Genesis 4:2 gives the first bit of details concerning Cain and Abel. Why God choose Abel and Cain isīetween Cain and Abel, a distinct difference in profession is first mentioned. It is interesting to note that Adam is believed to have had 56Ĭhildren 33 sons, and 23 daughters. The younger brother, Abel, was a "keeper of flocks", or, a shepherd. The opening verses of Genesis 4 introduced Cain as the first born. These two lines are seen initially in Cain and Able.
